McAuley Inspires Me....!
Name: Aliviah Donghi – Primary Vice School Leader. Class: 6T. Age: 12. Year I started at McAuley: 2014 In Kindergarten. Interests/hobbies: Art, Karate, Animals, reading, exploring new places. Favourite subject: I like to do Art and Maths because in art we get to be creative and I like learning new things in maths. A book or author I would recommend: I’d recommend the books: Author Jackie French - I love her book called ‘The Girl From Snowy River’ because it is descriptive and suspenseful. Three words to describe McAuley: Fun, encouraging and involving. Do you have a memorable classroom experience you’d like to share? I liked the class party last year. What has been the happiest moment of your life? When I am having a good time with my pets, family and friends. What is your proudest moment? When I became Primary Vice Leader. Goals as an SRC member for the remainder of 2020? I would like to make McAuley a better school so that kids are even more excited to come to McAuley. I think we need upper primary play equipment too. Something interesting that you might not know about me: I love to draw and sketch. |
Name: Jack O’Brien – Chisholm Vice Captain. Class:6T. Age:12. Year I started at McAuley: Kindergarten 2014. Hobbies and interests: Motorbike riding, video games, sport and spending time with friends. My favourite subject in school is PE and Maths. I like Maths because I like to challenge myself and it’s something that I find interesting and easy. I like sport because I get to do fun things against my friends. Also, on the weekend I play footy with my friends. A book I would recommend is ‘The Hunger Games’ as it goes in depth with the main character Katniss telling you how she feels about things and it’s always constant suspense. To describe my school in I would say: It’s fun, you learn a lot and make friends because if you come here, you can make many friends. A memorable moment in class: When I was Kindergarten, at the end of the week we got to play with the army men and me and my friends would have mini battles. Happiest moment of my life? When I was told we were going to the Gold Coast. What is your proudest moment? When I scored my first try in footy. Goals as an SRC member for the rest of 2020? To make the school a better, safer and funnier place. |
Name: Ethan Watts – Primary Vice Leader. Class: Year 6. Age: 11. Year started at McAuley: 2013. Interests/hobbies: Playing footy, basketball, Oz tag and riding scooters. Favourite subject: P.E is my favourite, because I love sports and love the activities we do. A book or author I would recommend is “I am number 4” because it is adventurous and describes the events well. Three words to describe McAuley are amazing, achieving and sports. Do you have a memorable classroom experience you’d like to share? When I got announced to become the classroom SRC in Year 5. What has been the happiest moment of your life? When I joined the Canberra Goulburn team for basketball and footy. What is your proudest moment? When I joined the sports teams in the area and in Canberra. Goals as an SRC member for the remainder of 2020: To make the school more fun, have more sports and overall, the best school. Something interesting that you might not know about me: That I am 50% Canadian. |
Name: Callum Dean - SRC Leader Yr 9.1. Age: 15. Year started at McAuley: 2011 Interests/hobbies: Basketball, footy, and fishing. Favourite subject: PASS because you get to play heaps of sports. A book or author I would recommend? I mainly enjoy autobiographies. I recently read Johnathan Thurston’s autobiography and highly recommend it. Three words to describe McAuley: Enjoyable, fun, and educational. Do you have a memorable classroom experience you’d like to share? When we dissected a Kidney in science. What has been the happiest moment of your life? When my team and I made the grand final in footy and basketball. What is your proudest moment? When I won the Jounama Junior classic (which is a fishing competition). Goals as an SRC member for the remainder of 2020: To make the school a better place, so students can enjoy coming every day. Something interesting that you might not know about me: I’m a keen fisherman. |
Name: Maggie Dalisay. SRC Leader Year 9.2. Age: 14. Year started at McAuley: 2011 Interests/hobbies: arts, music, sports and cooking. Favourite subject: Art, because I have always liked doing it and I like having time at school to create new artworks, become more creative and develop my skills. A book or author I would recommend Fleur Ferris, because she writes very intense and engaging books. She makes engrossing plot lines, interesting characters and her books are easy to read. Some of her books make the reader think, or even surprise them with something unexpected. Three words to describe McAuley. Tight, small, community. Do you have a memorable classroom experience you’d like to share? Going to Canberra in Yr 6, because it was very enjoyable, and everyone had fun. Even though we went there to learn, the places we went to were interesting and allowed us to enjoy ourselves. What has been the happiest moment of your life? The happiest moment of my life was going on a holiday to the Philippines because I got to see my relatives again. It was fun to go to places and have/experience things from my early stages of childhood that I can only experience there. What is your proudest moment? Accomplishing something for the first time. Goals as an SRC member for the remainder of 2020: There are not many things I can do for the remainder of this year, but my goal would probably be to help other students share/suggest their ideas to help improve the school. Something interesting that you might not know about me: I like to teach myself things/hobbies if I get interested in it.

Name: Jacob Ambrose. SRC Leader Year 9.1. The year I started at McAuley: 2017 in Year 6. Interests/hobbies: I like Swimming, 'Star Wars' and Cooking. Favourite subject: My favourite subject is Food Technology because I get to eat the food after I cook the food. A book or author I would recommend: I would recommend any 'Star Wars' Books and the ‘Skulduggery’ book series. The authors I would recommend are Claudia Grey and Christie Golden. Three words to describe McAuley: Outstanding, fun and cheerful. Do you have a memorable classroom experience you’d like to share? Learning to cook new and exciting things and dissecting a sheep's kidney in science. What has been the happiest moment of your life? The happiest moment of my school life when I made it to Sydney for my swimming to represent Canberra and Goulburn in swimming. What is your proudest moment? Getting the McAuley Sports Senior Boy Champion award. Goals as an SRC member for the remainder of 2020: My Goals for the remainder of the SRC member of the year to make the school a better learning and fun environment. Something interesting that you might not know about me: I am a huge fan of Star Wars and swim competitively. |
