NON-UNIFORM DAY OF MANY COLOURS

On Thursday 31st October McAuley staff and students are participating in the Catholic Mission ‘Day of Many Colours.’ Pope Francis has chosen the theme 'Baptised and Sent: The Church of Christ on Mission in the World'. The aim of the day is to raise the students’ awareness of the needs of the children around the world. Students are asked to come dressed in a colour representing the different continents and to donate a gold coin towards Catholic Mission.
Green is for Africa, red for the Americas, white for Europe, blue for Oceania, and yellow for Asia. The Day of Many Colours allows us to think about children in every continent around the world and to pray and share with them.
This year, students at McAuley will learn about how the Church in Ghana is taking a lead in providing life-saving care to children with disability and fostering their personal development for a brighter future.
Each class will receive a set of the beautiful Mission Rosary. The Mission Rosary is a great way to engage children in prayer for the missions … the colours create a great visual tool to connect the children’s prayers to the continents of the world …. It lends itself to more than simply praying the rosary ….
