WR ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
McAuley took a team of 35 students to the Western Region Athletics carnival in Cootamundra last Friday. All students were fine representatives for our school and displayed great sportsmanship and behaviour.
19 members of the team improved their results from our school carnival and the following students brought home ribbons:
Macy White - 2nd Jnr Shot Put, 2nd Jnr High Jump
Sophie Garner - 1st 10yrs 100m, 2nd Jnr 200m
Reese Keenan - 1st Snr 800m, 3rd 12yrs 100m, 3rd Snr 200m
Tahlia Bocking - 2nd Snr Discus
Phoebe Oag - 1st Snr Shot Put
Brad Beavan - 1st 8yrs 100m
Joey Parry - 3rd 8yrs 100m
Oliver Henderson - 1st Jnr 1500m, 1st Jnr 800m, 1st Jnr High Jump, 1st Jnr Discus, 1st Jnr Long Jump, 2nd Jnr 200m, 3rd 10yrs 100m
Aidan Turnbull - 2nd Jnr 800m, 3rd Jnr 200m
Dusty Hood - 3rd Snr Shot Put
Jake Bower - 3rd Jnr Shot Put
Alex Crowe - 3rd Jnr High Jump

Senior girls relay - 3rd (Reese Keenan, Georgie Austin, Zahli Dean, Phoebe Oag)
Senior boys relay - 3rd (Ethan Watts, Jeremy Williams, Jesse Pendergast, Jaden Keenan)
Special mention must go to Oliver Henderson who not only brought home 7 ribbons, but was also named Junior boy age champion and also broke the Western Region records in the 800m (2:55.91) and High Jump (1.24m). Congratulations Oliver!
From the Western Region carnival the first 4 places in the 100m and 200m and the first 2 in all other events qualify for the Western Region team to compete at the Archdiocesan Carnival to be held at the AIS in August.
