SECONDARY SPORT UPDATE
Swimming: What a beautiful day in Goulburn for the Secondary Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Swimming Carnival. Thank you to parents who were able to support and transport our team of 18 swimmers. Some excellent results from Will Smith, Jacob Ambrose and Ellisha Olsen. Great to see all of your hard work and perseverance is paying off. Our school community is really proud of you!
Age Champions were as follows:
14 yrs boys – William Smith - McAuley
16 yrs boys – Jacob Ambrose – McAuley
Jacob also broke a long standing record on the day: Boys 15-16 200m IM – Old Record David Smyth - Hennessy (1999) & Brady Armstrong – Trinity (2005) 2:37.65 New Record Jacob Ambrose – McAuley 2:30.29.
Will, Jacob and Ellisha have all gained representation in the Archdiocese Team for the CCC Carnival in Sydney later in the term.
The winning school was calculated on a handicap basis again this year by dividing the points by the number of swimmers finding the average per swimmer then multiplied by the difference in numbers. Touch Football: Also receiving congratulations this week is Callum Rossiter who has been selected as a 'Shadow" for the combined Wagga and Canberra Goulburn Touch Footy Team. Good on you Call - a great result.
